House insulation and facade finishing – why is it necessary?

The installation of insulation can be carried out both during the construction of the house and during repair work. In this case, the work can be carried out both inside and outside the premises. However, the external format is considered the best option, since in such cases useful space is significantly saved. In addition, when selecting materials for internal insulation, it is necessary to pay extreme attention to the emphasis on safety. Some components in the composition can cause negative consequences for the health of people in the room.

The process itself involves parallel finishing of the facades. Thanks to this, several important advantages for the inhabitants of the house can be highlighted:

  • saving space inside the premises;
  • original design of the facade;
  • extended service life of the building itself;
  • absence of the process of destruction of the walls - due to the fact that moisture will not accumulate in them;
  • achievement of excellent soundproofing properties;
  • high-quality protection from the impact of environmental factors.

Finding the right insulation at the best price is not difficult today. Modern manufacturers offer a huge amount of material, which implies a certain installation technology.

What is most often used as insulation?

In terms of safety, efficiency and affordability, users note such materials as polystyrene foam, mineral wool, and polyurethane foam.

Also, do not forget about those insulation materials that have long been used in Ukraine and are considered classics - slag, sawdust, reeds, etc. In order to make the right choice, you need to know some characteristics of the most popular material.

Mineral wool
It has a fine fiber structure, characterized by various density indicators. Provides efficiency in installation, allowing to obtain high rates of heat retention and preservation.

Polystyrene foam
It is produced in the form of slabs of a certain size and in bulk form - granules. The ability to retain heat in polystyrene foam is achieved due to the specific structure of cells filled with air. The material is lightweight and is intended exclusively for external installation, while it retains moisture and does not allow air to pass through.

Polystyrene foam
The same raw materials are used for its production as for polystyrene foam. However, the manufacturing technologies have some differences. Therefore, polystyrene foam is more durable for operation, less flammable, and has low moisture absorption. Such material can be installed even at low temperatures.

Different materials are used for facade finishing work. Specialists usually use siding, different types of plaster, porcelain stoneware, cladding panels, etc. In addition to insulation, the installation of vapor barrier is also important for the process. Ignoring any of this stage can lead to a violation of the thermal insulation properties of the building.
