What materials do we use to finish the garage facade?

+

  • clinker brick
  • insulation with a finishing coating of “bark beetle” or “lamb”
  • thermal panels
  • vinyl siding
  • metal siding
  • profiled sheet
  • plaster with painting
  • thermowood
  • ventilated facade

Which material to choose for finishing the building facade - stone or vinyl panels (siding)?

+

Today you are offered a wide variety of building materials that you can choose to finish the facade - natural and artificial stone, wood, metal and vinyl panels (siding) and others. It is often not easy to make a choice, especially if you do not have any of your own preferences or ideas. What should you pay attention to, what criteria should you follow when choosing a stone for cladding the facade? First of all, think about the time frame for which the facade finishing is carried out - stone will serve you for a very long time, siding - 30-40 years, wood - much less, especially without appropriate treatment. Also pay attention to what kind of care this or that finishing option requires, what additional costs await you during operation. One of the main functions of finishing, along with the protection of structures, is, naturally, a decorative function, the design of the exterior of the building. Ultimately, this also works to create the image of the owner of the house. For example, facing the facade with stone will not only give the house an elegant look, but it is also an indicator of good taste, the success of its owner. Important factors include the cost of the material and finishing work, their labor intensity, their duration, etc. But when comparing prices, you need to consider the service life and future expenses. For example, if you decide to choose stone as the material with which you want to finish the facade - especially natural stone - then, of course, it will cost more, but at the same time, this type of finishing will serve you much longer.

Is it necessary to treat the house with anything before installing the panels?

+

If the house has just been built, then additional treatment is not required.
If the house has been standing for more than six months, then it will be more reliable to treat the facade with the following mixture: add an antiseptic to the deep penetration primer concentrate. This is necessary to prevent the occurrence of mold, fungus and insects in the walls of the house.

How long can a facade be without grouting?

+

Due to the displacement of the second layer of the thermal panel during its production, a water seal is created and there are no cold bridges on all four sides of the panel. Therefore, the terms of jointing for thermal panels are not so critical. We recommend grouting the seams after installing the panels within one to two months.

What materials do we install ventilated facades from?

+

  • from ceramic granite;
  • from fiber cement boards;
  • from composite;
  • from mono aluminum sheet
  • from the siding
  • from HPL panels
  • from tiles (SKANROC)
  • SPOK (Transparent enclosing structures)

How to insulate a facade with foam plastic?

+

Polystyrene foam is convenient because it can be used to insulate both apartments and entire houses. If the working area is within a few meters, then the work is carried out from the ground. And if higher, then either from scaffolding or by industrial mountaineering. In any case, in order to insulate the facade of the house, you need to start with purchasing materials:

  • insulate the facade of a house or apartment - materials
  • primer to strengthen the wall and improve the adhesion between the glue and the wall;
  • glue for attaching polystyrene foam boards and reinforcing mesh. We choose glue on a polymer-cement basis to insulate the facade of the house reliably and for a long time;
  • base profiles to create a support for the insulation itself and for ebbs (after all, rainwater will otherwise quickly damage and destroy the new insulation);
  • dowels for fixing polystyrene foam boards. You need to buy umbrella dowels based on the calculation of about 5-8 pieces per square meter of insulation;
  • insulation with foam plastic, which means we need the foam plastic itself. We buy foam plastic slabs. We select the thickness depending on the climate zone and the average temperature in the cold season;
  • reinforcing mesh with a density of 140 to 160 g / m2;
  • plaster and facade paint of the desired color, because the facade needs to be not only insulated, but also aesthetically decorated.

Then all the procedures are carried out in the same order. First, the base marks the insulation boundary from below. The wall is primed. Work on installing the slabs begins from the corner. Each slab needs to be coated with glue, but only along the edges, while in the middle only individual dots should be put. If the foam plastic is not too thick, then it is recommended to coat the wall with glue. We fasten the slab to the wall, do not forget that the vertical seams should shift with each row.

The glue dries for about three days. Only then can you begin additional fastening with umbrella dowels. After this stage, use a foam float to smooth out all the differences and unevenness. Next, the reinforcing mesh is attached with glue: apply glue to the foam and use a spatula to “sink” the mesh itself, and then another layer of glue. After all this dries, the wall should become smooth and even. Only such a wall is ready for plastering. More detailed and precise instructions for working with plaster should be read on the container itself.

Remember that when painting the facade with paint, it is worth alternating strokes in different directions to create the most uniform surface. But you can also use a spray gun. Using these simple recommendations, you can not only control the insulation process, but also try to insulate the facade of the house yourself if the working area is near the ground.

Are thermal panels protected from efflorescence?

+

Efflorescence is a white salt deposit that forms on the outer walls of buildings.
Modern causes of efflorescence are chemical substances emitted by enterprises into the atmosphere, the coastal region, and polluted air.

In order to reduce the likelihood of efflorescence, the facade stone is additionally surface-treated with water-repellent compounds.

Why don't you joint (rub) the seams at the factory? It's more convenient

+

Firstly, after grouting, the weight of the thermal panels will increase, and this will not only make installation less convenient, but will also increase the cost of transportation.
Secondly, during installation, it will still be necessary to finish grouting the points of attachment of the panels with dowels and the joints of the panels. In this case, the color and graininess of the grout will differ, which will affect the appearance of the house.
Thirdly, due to vibrations during transportation, partial spillage of the grout mixture is possible, which will also require finishing grouting during installation.
